An MV-22 Osprey assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 161 (VMM-161) prepares to land during a U.S. Personnel Recovery Coordination Center (PRCC) validation exercise at Grand Bara, Djibouti, Oct. 31, 2021. The Osprey transported U.S. Air Force Special Tactics Airmen to recover a downed pilot as part of the exercise scenario. The PRCC, in support of Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), conducts personnel recovery and casualty evacuation for U.S. and joint partners in East Africa. CJTF-HOA conducted a full casualty evacuation exercise to display capabilities and test their personnel recovery and casualty evacuation system for deficiencies.
