211111-N-XB010-1013 SASEBO, Japan (Nov. 11, 2021) Sailors assigned to USS New Orelans (LPD 18) and members of the Commander, Navy Region Japan Fire and Emergency Services, Sasebo, stand by in a staging area in preparation for participating in a Chapter 12 FEDFIRE drill assessment. New Orleans, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, along with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
