Tech. Sgt. Logan Thomas, 823rd RED HORSE Squadron pavements and equipment operator, chutes wet concrete into a work area as part of an expansive flight line apron expansion project at Yokota Air Base, Japan, Aug. 24, 2021. The newly arriving RED HORSE team laid down 5,200 tons of aggregate gravel as a stabilizing foundation, and then completed pouring 3,000 cubic meters of concrete or rigid pavement for two new aprons. The continued apron expansion is a multi-year construction effort to enhance Yokota Air Base’s strategic airlift mission capabilities and is the first project the newly activated 800th RED HORSE Group has undertaken for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command.
