U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Anthony Huss, a rifleman with 2d Battalion, 8th Marines, maneuvers on the objective while conducting a force-on-force exercise during Fuji Viper 22.1 at Combined Arms Training Center, Camp Fuji, Japan, Nov. 4, 2021. This unscripted exercise tested and strengthened the Marines’ ability to operate in distributed environments, while adapting to a thinking peer-level adversary. 2/8 is forward-deployed in the Indo-Pacific under 4th Marines, 3d Marine Division, as a part of the Unit Deployment Program.
