Soldiers of the 528th Combat Operational Stress Control (COSC) based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, conduct their community checks by handing out snacks to various units serving Operation Allies Welcomes at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, Nov. 30, 2021. The COSC's main role is to ensure Soldiers are maintaining their mental health and well-being. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible.
