Steve Johnston receives induction as honorary commander of the 180th Airlift Squadron, Missouri Air National Guard, during a lunch with civic leaders and leadership of the 139th Airlift Wing, at Rosecrans Air National Guard Base, in St. Joseph, Missouri, Nov. 23, 2021. Johnston has served as director of the Community Alliance of St. Joseph and director of external relations at Missouri Western State University. The purpose of the United States Air Force Honorary Commander Program is to educate key community leaders about the unit’s mission and to foster a supportive relationship with the community.
