Cpl. Sean Purtell, a collateral duty inspector and Cpl. Cassidie Crowe, a collateral duty quality assurance representative, both with Marine Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Squadron 4 (VMU-4), perform preflight maintenance on the RQ-21A Blackjack at Camp Pendleton, Calif., Dec. 4, 2021. The Marine Corps is divesting the RQ-21A unmanned aircraft system (UAS) to equip additional active component VMU squadrons with more capable Medium Altitude, Long Endurance UAS. As part of the new force design 2030, the Marine Corps will make investments in capabilities to include long range precision fires, advanced reconnaissance capabilities, unmanned systems, and resilient networks.
