Seaman Riley Hatcher sits on top a buoy on the deck of USCGC Sycamore (WLB-209) in Long Island Sound, NY, on Oct. 20, 2021. Once the buoy is on deck, secured, and no longer attached to the chain, Hatcher climbs the buoy with a harness on in order to check the light and any day shapes attached to the top.
