A U.S. Army paratrooper assigned to the 173rd Brigade Support Battalion (Airborne) uses a hydraulic tool to remove a car door during auto-extraction training at Caserma Ederle in Vicenza, Italy on Nov. 23, 2021. Firefighters from the U.S. Army Garrison Italy Fire Department are training personnel from the Brigade Medical Support Company in life-saving techniques while rescuing casualties from wrecked vehicles.
The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army's Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility. Forward deployed across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to build partnerships and strengthen the alliance.
