CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti (Dec. 11, 2021) U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal 1st Class Myles Dempsey, Easton, Conn., stands in front of a bazaar featuring Djiboutian vendors at Camp Lemonnier, Dec. 11, 2021. Dempsey, the president of the volunteer group Friends of Africa, spearheaded the transfer of vendor merchandise from off base to on base and set the event tables up for display. There were than 85 base volunteers, 20 tables and 36 artisans and vendors. CLDJ serves as an expeditionary base for U.S. military forces providing support to ships, aircraft and personnel that ensure security throughout Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia.
