U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Israel Santibanez, an engineering noncommissioned officer in charge assigned to 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), detains a hostile individual during an Evacuation Control Center (ECC) training aboard the amphibious transport dock USS Arlington (LPD 24), Dec 13, 2021. ECC is a training conducted during Amphibious Ready Group/MEU Exercise (AMX) and is designed to equip Marines to safely process evacuees out of a combat area. AMX is the second at-sea period in the MEU’s Predeployment Training Program; in which a join assessment of performance and recommendation is made for the MEU, signifying progress towards a deployment certification.
