Police officers from the surrounding communities wait to escort the family of U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Alberto Lucio, before his memorial service at Marine Memorial Chapel on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Dec. 13, 2021. Lucio died on Dec. 6, 2021 while attempting to aid in a vehicle collision on Interstate Highway 5. Upon completion of his basic training, Lucio was assigned to the Provost Marshal's Office, Security and Emergency Services Battalion, MCI- West, MCB Camp Pendleton.
