U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to the amphibious transport dock USS Arlington (LPD 24) pull in lines connecting to USNS Leroy Grumman during a Replenishment at Sea (RAS) exercise aboard Arlington, Dec. 11, 2021. RAS is a procedure by which ships can receive critical supplies while underway and was conducted as part of Amphibious Ready Group/MEU Exercise (AMX) in preparation for an upcoming deployment. AMX is the second at-sea period in the MEU’s Predeployment Training Program; in which a join assessment of performance and recommendation is made for the MEU, signifying progress towards a deployment certification.
