Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) held their annual parking garage Code Blue Drill, Dec. 14. “This is a joint exercise with Fed Fire and NMRTC Portsmouth medical response staff,” said Lt. Natalie Hoidal, NMCP Code Blue Drill coordinator. Those responding to the drill location immediately initiated care and were able to transport the patient – a Simulation Center mannequin – to the Emergency Department. These drills are important to ensure staff is able to transport patients from the parking garage and are able to coordinate joint medical efforts with Fed Fire.
