Marilynn Palmquist Stone, age 97, places a wreath on the grave of her husband, John Robert Stone, at Rock Island National Cemetery in Illinois at the annual Wreaths Across America event held Dec. 18. A lifelong resident of Rock Island, Illinois, he served as a first lieutenant in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
