The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport Mark 48 Mod 7 Advanced Processor Build Five Plus Software Systems Engineering and Development Team — comprised of Jay Patel (from left), Mark Campbell, Kevin Chaves, Daniel Wilson, Jonathan Ogren and Jeong Bae — recently won the National Defense Industrial Association Lt. Gen. Thomas R. Ferguson Jr. Systems Engineering Excellence Award. The team was honored for developing solutions derived from fleet requirements for the Mark 48 torpedo and utilizing two virtual test events, resulting in significant cost savings per event.
