U.S. Air and Army Alaska National Guard members assemble at the Fairbanks armory in preparation to support their local community, Fairbanks North Star Borough, in emergency response assistance with extreme snow and ice conditions. Alaska National Guard personnel and small unit support vehicles (SUSV) are on stand-by to assist local authorities with ground evacuations.
