How cool is it that my body gives my baby EVERYTHING he needs to grow and thrive? I breastfeed not because I think I'm 'cool' or 'better' than anyone; not because I want all the attention on me when I'm out hiking and feeding my hungry child; I do it because I can't imagine it any other way. It was the absolute perfect choice for my family.
"The Coast Guard community has been so incredible in so many ways. From my neighbors helping out while family is so far away to a lactation consultant that made my breastfeeding journey a breeze. I seriously couldn't have done it without the community and all of their help.
"This is a completely new and 'insert ALL emotions here' rollercoaster. It's new for your baby, too. Everyone is learning together and it doesn't have to be as scary or intimidating as what you may think or hear."
