Hawaii National Guard's Joint Task Force resumed COVID-19 swab testing at the Halawa Correctional Facility, Aiea, Hawaii, January 19, 2022. Due to the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases spreading on Oahu and amongst correctional facilities, the Hawaii Department of Public Safety partnered with the Hawaii National Guard to help the department's health care staff administer mass testing for the inmate population. Two teams assigned to a medical task force conducted COVID-19 registration verification, and swab specimen collection.
