PONCE, Puerto Rico - (Jan. 25, 2022) - Chief Engineman Stephen Bashore (right) describes the duties of a central control station watchstander to Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro aboard the Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Milwaukee (LCS 5) during his visit to the ship in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Jan. 25, 2022. Secretary Del Toro is visiting Puerto Rico to celebrate the 500th anniversary of San Juan, meet with local officials, and to visit the Sailors aboard the Milwaukee, which is deployed to U.S. 4th Fleet area of operations to support Joint Interagency Task Force South’s mission, which includes counter-illicit drug trafficking missions in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific.
