An F-35B taxis on the tarmac before refueling on Bogue Airfield, N.C., Jan. 27, 2022. The refueling was a part of the Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations demonstration held for the Secretary of the Navy, Carlos Del Toro. The Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations demonstration showcased II MEF’s efforts to align with the Commandant’s Planning Guidance. As showcased, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing continues to develop best practices for establishing and defending forward refueling points and sustaining combat operations from forward expeditionary advanced bases.
