Sgt. Maj Roy (Woody) Sullivan, was awarded the Legion of Merit by Brig. Gen. Rob Barrie Jan. 18 in recognition of Sullivan’s 38 years of meritorious service in uniform. Sullivan, a South Carolina native, received the award during his retirement ceremony at Redstone Arsenal’s Summit Conference center. Sullivan made history in 2018 when became the first ever PEO Aviation sergeant major. The retirement ceremony followed a change of responsibility ceremony in which Sullivan relinquished his PEO Aviation duties to Sgt. Maj. Carlos Loeza.
