U.S. Marine Corps Chief Warrant Officer 3 Justin Genovese, a motor transport maintenance officer with Combat Logistic Battalion 31 (CLB), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), discusses with the Navy commanders of the USS Ashland (LSD 48) on the 3D printing capabilities the Marines brought aboard the ship in the Philippine Sea, Jan. 30, 2022. The Marines brought the capability aboard to assist their Navy partners in expediting the replacement of needed parts and assist with internal fixes throughout the ship. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners, and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
