U.S Marines with Battalion Landing Team 1/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), board an MV-22B Osprey before conducting a helo-cast training exercise, aboard amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), Feb. 17, 2022. The training exercise consisted of Marines jumping out of a low altitude CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter into the water, then climbing aboard an inflatable, motorized aircraft. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
