A crew member aboard Coast Guard Cutter Jacob Poroo, a 154-foot fast response cutter homeported in Pascagoula, Mississippi, vents the swim bladder of a recovered red snapper caught by seized fishing gear in the Gulf of Mexico off the southern Texas coast, Feb. 11, 2022. During their patrol from Jan. 31 to Feb. 16, the cutter’s crew interdicted three lanchas and seized an assortment of fishing gear, including 10 high flyers, approximately 4 miles of long line, more than 200 hooks and 9 long line anchors.
