The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) is committed to furthering its interoperability with Brazilian forces.
Soldiers from the Brazilian Army 5th Battalion, 12th Infantry Brigade (Air Assault), 2nd Division visited The Sabalauski Air Assault School where they were familiarized with air assault operations in order to prepare for their upcoming rotation at the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, LA, alongside 1st Brigade Combat Team, March 2nd, 2022. “Partnering with Brazilian forces increases the lethality of both armies and strengthens confidence and trust in each other should either nation need one another’s support in the event of global conflict,” said Lt. Col. Geoffroy St Gal de Pons, the U.S. Army Section Chief, at the U.S. Embassy in Brazil. “During World War II Brazil was the only South American Country that assisted the U.S. in liberating Europe. We have a long history of partnership and it is critical to build upon our relationship.”
