Warren Walker, a member of Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 279th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Oklahoma Army National Guard, stands ready to compete in the Best Warrior Competition at Camp Gruber Training Center, Oklahoma, March 3, 2022. The Best Warrior Competition is a three-day annual event that brings together top-tier Soldiers to test their proficiency in a variety of warrior tasks and drills. The competitors will endure tests in land navigation, marksmanship and weapons skills, an assault course, a written essay and an appearance before a board of sergeants major, all culminating in a 12-mile ruck march.
