NORFOLK – Capt. Kevin Zayac, commanding officer, addresses the crew during a change of command ceremony aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), Mar. 11, 2022. Zayac began his tour on Wasp as the executive officer and took command in 2020. During his time as commanding officer, Zayac led the crew into dry-dock selected restricted availability where Wasp has undergone extensive planned maintenance to enhance its effectiveness to the fleet and extend its lifespan.
