James Smith (center), commander of 21st Theater Sustainment Command, meets with senior leaders from 839th Transportation Battalion, 598th Transportation Brigade (Military Surface Deployment & Distribution Command), and others to assess the port operation and reception, staging and onward movement (RSOM) of equipment at a port in Alexandroupoli, Greece, March 21, 2022. The RSOM operations are in support of 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division’s arrival into Europe for Atlantic Resolve. Under the command of the U.S. Army V Corps and 1st Infantry Division, 3rd ABCT will conduct bilateral, joint and multinational training events to build readiness, increase interoperability and enhance the bond between allied and partner militaries.
