U.S. Army Soldiers from the 130th Engineer Brigade and 8th Military Police Brigade train the Papua New Guinea Defense Forces on care under fire, convoy security, individual movement techniques and formations as fire teams in Port Moresby on March 22. Combined military readiness and responsiveness requires combined training. Tamiok Strike 22 is a bilateral Army to Army military exercise between United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) and the PNG forces. The exercise is a USARPAC Theater Security Cooperation event with the PNG, conducted at the Brigade/Battalion level, which focuses on key U.S. and PNG training requirements. TK22 directly assist USARPAC to enhance partner land force capabilities to develop military interoperability, maintaining access to demonstrate regional security commitment, and exchange Army Tactic, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).
