Heavy construction equipment moves and places dredged material on the beach south of Palm Beach Inlet March 24, 2022, as part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers maintenance dredging project in sections of Palm Beach Harbor. Beneficial use of dredged material is regularly incorporated in Corps projects where practicable to make best use of scarce regional sand resources. The present harbor dredging effort calls for removal of approximately 390,000 cubic yards of accumulated material from the harbor’s entrance channel, settling basin, the southern and northern turning basins, among other sections. It is the largest dredging operation in Palm Beach Harbor in the past two decades. (USACE photo by Brigida Sanchez)
