Maj. Gen. Charles Costanza, the 3rd Infantry Division commanding general, embraces veteran Dana Bowman who parachuted into the closing ceremony of the second day of the Club Car Tournament at Deer Creek Course at The Landings Club, Savannah, Georgia, April 2, 2022. This ceremony marked the end of the Club Car Championship’s Military Appreciation Day. Bowman is a retired sergeant first class and a former member of the U.S. Army’s elite parachute team, the Golden Knights. During the annual Golden Knights training in 1994, he lost the use of both his legs in a tragic accident. Only nine months later, he became the first double-amputee to re-enlist in the U.S. Army.
