Maj. Gen. Charles Costanza, 3rd Infantry Division commanding general, participates in a live fire training evolution with Directorate of Emergency Services firefighters, March 28. During his visit to fire station facilities and the training burn house, DES showed him facilities in need of repair at Fire Station 4 and then took him through the burn house in order to give him a better appreciation for what installation firefighters do for Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield. "We are a big cost for the installation, so giving the commanding general a first-hand experience is important to helping him understand why it's so important to resource our department," said Gary Flores, assistant fire chief with the Hunter Army Airfield fire department.
