After making their tanks operational, members of the Idaho Army National Guards 2-116th Combined Arms Battalion from A and B Companies leave the MATES Cantonment area heading for their assigned ranges.
On the morning of March 24, 2022, soldiers from the 2-116th Combined Arms Battalion began arriving at the MATES facility at the entrance to the Orchard Combat Training Center south of Gowen Field. Companies A, B and C began prepping their vehicles and equipment for a week of field exercises and gunnery qualifications.
The Idaho Army National Guard's 2-116th Combined Arms Battalion was in the field on the Orchard Combat Training Center in the final days of March. The soldiers of the 2-166th CAB are in the final phases of preparation for an upcoming deployment in support of Operation Spartan Shield.
