NAVAL BASE GUAM (March 28, 2022) - Contestants prepared their crabs for a crab race during Navy Exchange (NEX) Guam’s Mes CHamoru Celebration. NEX Guam hosted a Mes CHamoru Celebration onboard U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) March 26 and 27. Mes CHamoru, also known as CHamoru Month is recognized throughout the month of March when the community celebrates and shares Guam’s unique culture, heritage, and history. Every year on the first Monday in March, the island also celebrates Guam History and CHamoru Heritage Day. The event featured local vendors, live entertainment and music, dancing, crab races, and displays including coconut husking and coconut grating with the kamyu.
