U.S. Army Spc. Cameryn Usher, a behavioral health specialist assigned to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood, Texas, digs a trench to align sandbags on the ground while competing in the 2022 Regional Health Command-Central Best Leader Competition, at Fort Bliss, Texas, April 13, 2022. The nine-line medical evacuation event consisted of five stations, and required competitors to set up a radio, treat and transport a simulated casualty over 1,200 meters, request a medevac, react to contact, and perform memory recall. The competition promotes esprit de corps throughout the Army while recognizing Soldiers, noncommissioned officers, and officers that demonstrate commitment to the Army values and embody the warrior ethos.
