SEATTLE (April 9, 2022) – Oregon State University Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) midshipmen perform “Eyes Right” as they march by U. S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Matthew Boyd, Assistant Marine Officer Instructor (AMOI) for the University of Utah Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC). Boyd was one of several judges for the platoon drill inspection on a University of Washington soccer field during the 2022 Northwest Navy competition, April 9. More than 250 NROTC students and staff members from the Universities of Idaho/Washington State, Oregon State, Utah and Washington competed in military drill, academic and athletic events at the one-day contest. Northwest Navy has been held on a rotating basis between the schools since 1957. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, this was the first time all units were able to compete in person since 2019. (U. S.
