U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. David Jarvis, drill instructor, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island (MCRD PI), is presented a Noncommissioned Officer of the Year Award and a Navy Achievement Medal by Brig. Gen. Andrew M. Niebel, commanding general, Marine Corps Installations East, at MCRD PI, South Carolina, April 19, 2022. Jarvis was given these awards for performing life saving steps on a Marine and for being a platoon sergeant, a Lance Cpl. seminar instructor, volunteering at Habitat for Humanity and Devil Pups while serving with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort.
