SAN DIEGO (April 21, 2022) Cmdr. Michael J. Welgan, right, reports his assumption of duties as commanding officer of amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42), April 21, 2022. Welgan relieved Cmdr. Cullen M. Greenfield as commanding officer of Germantown during the ceremony. Germantown, a part of Expeditionary Strike Group 3, is a Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship homeported in San Diego.
