BEAUMONT, Texas, (April 22, 2022) – Military Sealift Command in March charted American Roll-on Roll-Off Carrier (ARC) ship MV Endurance to load U.S. Army cargo at the Port of Beaumont in Texas and embarked two female tactical advisors (TACADs) to oversee the voyage to Europe. The 144-foot motor vessel loaded 1,333 pieces of critical U.S. Army cargo that included Army tanks, self-propelled artillery, armored personnel carriers, and support vehicles used to take part in Operation Atlantic Resolve in support of the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division’s deployment to Europe. Pictured above at the cargo ramp of the MV Endurance during cargo discharge in Esbjerb, Denmark, from left to right, is Adam Clark, MSCEURAF representative, LCDR Fionna Boyle, MSC tactical advisor, Capt. Glenn Koshak, master of MV Endurance, ENS Rosvelly Medina, MSC tactical advisor, Staff Sgt. Tyler Berwick, tank commander of 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, and Staff Sgt. Winston Powell, NCO in Charge, Logistic/Sustainment Team. Berwick and Powell served as Supercargoes I and II, respectively. “As supercargoes, their duty was to accompany, maintain, and secure the military vehicles on board the vessel, along with the rest of the cargo. They had to conduct daily rounds of the cargo holds, ensuring that there was no hazmat spillage nor any loose vehicles from their fixed positions,” Medina said.
