BACH Soldier Pfc. Tyrion Smith, touches a likeness of Blanchfield Army Community Hospital's namesake for luck as he prepares to represent the hospital with his squad at the Regional Health Command-Atlantic Best Leader Competition, April 25-29 at Fort Benning, Georgia. Col. Florence Blanchfield began her nursing career during the Influenza Pandemic of 1918 and went on serve as the Chief of the Army Nurse Corps during World War II, leading a ready medical Force of more than 50,000 nurses on all fronts in order to save lives.
