A Virginia Army National Guard Soldier with Task Force Red Dragon, Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), completes a swimming obstacle course assessment during a French Desert Commando Course (FDCC) pre-assessment at 5th Overseas Interarms Regiment base, Djibouti, April 19, 2022. The French pre-assessment includes a swim obstacle course, a five-mile run, knot tying and French weapons familiarization. Since 2015, the French Forces stationed in Djibouti (FFDJ) have invited U.S. service members with CJTF-HOA and Camp Lemonnier to participate in the course.
