Hydric soil is formed under conditions of saturation, flooding or ponding lasting long enough during the growing season to develop anaerobic conditions in the upper part. Hydric soil is one of three factors addressed in the Automated Wetland Determination Data Sheets during the collection and analysis of wetland delineations across the nation.
