JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 7, 2022) - Hospitalman Willie Munford gives a vaccine to a patient at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Immunization Clinic. Munford, a native of Wahiawa, Hawaii, says, “It is important that we keep people safe from diseases.” World Immunization Week is April 24 – 30. Vaccines help individuals and communities by preventing and reducing the spread of serious infectious diseases. Among children born 1994 - 2018, vaccination will prevent an estimated 419 million illnesses, 26.8 million hospitalizations, and 936,000 deaths over their lifetimes.
