YOKOSUKA, Japan (April 19, 2022) – Operations Specialist Seaman Jacob Dess, from West Palm Beach, Fla., test fits a new piece of lagging foam on a pipe aboard U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) April 19, 2022 in Yokosuka, Japan. Lagging is used as thermal insulation for pipes and bulkheads inside the ship. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
