Various Airmen with the 821st Contingency Response Support Squadron use a HaptX virtual reality (VR) unit, at Travis Air Force Base, California, April 18, 2022. HaptX officials demonstrated their state-of-the-art VR unit, which has been recognized at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and has also won multiple awards such as The Engineering & Technology Innovation award, The Engineer’s Collaborate To Innovate (or “C2I”) award and the Advanced Imaging Society technology award. Each HaptX VR unit allowed users to simulate feeling of real-life objects through 136 different sensors in their patented gloves. (U.S. Air Force photo illustration created by Staff Sgt.
