The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District partnered with the 611th Civil Engineer Squadron to disconnect this dormitory from the central steam plant at King Salmon Air Force Station in 2021. By adding an independent boiler to the facility, the next generation of airmen will enjoy cozy living quarters heated by a system that delivers greater reliability, cost effectiveness and energy efficiency.
