Forging friendships pier side as well as ashore… Lt. James Kirlin, Navy Nurse Corps officer, is greeted by a local sea lion during the hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH20) visit to Peru to provide medical care to those in need. Kirlin, a Casper, Wyoming native, helped with caring for more than 4,000 local patients at two temporary medical sites, part of a five-month medical and humanitarian aid mission to 12 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean (Courtesy photo Lt. James Kirlin).
