PORTSMOUTH, Va. (NNS) -- Dr. Paul Gillooly, Environmental Programs for Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center (NMCPHC) addresses attendees of the NMCPHC-hosted, three-day public health risk communication and media workshop at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP), May 3-5, 2022. The workshop focused on how to plan and execute communications to internal and external stakeholders on any public health issue that impacts their mission, both crisis and non-crisis. Attendees included personnel from the State Department, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard, Navy Environmental and Preventive Medicine Unit Two, NMCP, Air Force Headquarters Air Combat Command, and other area medical commands. Attendees held professional titles as Public Health Officers, Occupational Safety and Health Specialists, Industrial Hygienists, Epidemiologists, Public Affairs, Toxicologists, Microbiologist, Environmental Health, and Bioenvironmental Engineers. The training team included Dr. Gillooly and Mr. Bill Stover, NMCPHC Environmental Programs, and Sandy Martinez, CEO of Fulton Communications, who specialize in communications consulting and training with decades of experience.
