Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Van, Joint Task Force-Civil Support commanding general, pointing, talks about the role of the 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade during exercise Guardian Response 22 on May 9, 2022. The brigade provided CH-47 Chinook and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters to swiftly evacuate casualties and survivors during a simulated nuclear terrorist attack on American soil. Van was joined on his tour of exercise by joint foreign military commanders from the United Kingdom and Mexico. The tour better informed Guardian Response 22 and how it is designed to sharpen the skills, boost capabilities and improve mission readiness of U.S. Army units assigned to the Department of Defense’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Response Enterprise.
